Thanks for bringing that up, Ach. That's exactly the point actually. They are trying to make it appear as though female bodies are no 7chouma, and we can just have them showed like that in magazines, then in advertisements, then in the street, and it will be alright.
Ach, we are a Muslim country where such a behavior is not tolerated. Posing nude for a magazine is a mere provocation, and a poor attempt to bring in some ideas that are not compatible with our religion and culture.
What's worst is that they didn't publish a photo of some foreign model. They insisted on her being a Moroccan, z3ma they didn't brink anything from outside, it's already there, and they are just shedding light on it.
yes...sigh...i agree...and i understand...but i think that there are other ways of looking at the image than as a moral tug-of-war, that is the most simple and immediate reaction to the image. and it is a valid reaction and it may very well have these effects of attacking religion or culture of morocco but what if it's not only about that? i think we see images every day in moroccan news, tv, etc that could be considered 7achouma but ppl dont have this reaction because they think that the images are not there just only to shock, but for other reasons, for news or to educate or something else, or the images are removed from being offensive to them on a personal level--nichane prints images like this frequently. in my humble opinion an overwhelming number of things in this modern world can be slapped with this designation-- any pop singer picture, middle school health class textbook, song lyric -- but we still live in this world and interact in it, and there are only certain things that shock for certain reasons; even if ALL of this should go against what we believe is culturally respectful, we only get pissed when we see NAKED WOMAN!!!-- like yeah obviously it is a provocation (ps that dude is not foreign either hes a moroccan
to go to this extent but we have been desensitized to every day stuff that is probably worse or just as bad, and as a society we have certain prejudices that have the danger of causing us to focus and restrict unfairly on some things over others. wach fhmti ach bgheit n9ol?

wellah thats so retarded :S how this pic is gonna help poor women in mountains and countrysides :S they dont even know that femme du maroc exists
.... so if someone is worried about the future of the moroccan woman , he must go there and teach those women how to read and write ,help them to know their rights and respo ....
not publishing a nude pic that gonna help some muslim extremists to to gather more stupids to their side
maddy baby, so youre looking @ it from a practical perspective saying we have more important things to worry about like infrastructure, basic education for women, etc...but what i thought about was from a moral perspective, like damn, ok its sensational, but its just a woman, in my opinion shes not trying to look sexual or anything, this is a real thing, khal9 allah, and there are a lot more pressing moral issues that we should be focusing on like young ppl aichin f boua9a, chmakrin, lkahol, they dont wanna respect their elders, they dont go 2 jma3, pray, tyakolo f wust nahar f ramadan, f z3ama alach i7na rakizin 3la soura wa7ida b7alha laham 7aja...should focus more on programs, education, etc than on blocking the real image of something that does exist...its a pregnant woman so what...maybe it would be better if they chose a better model...i suggest next time they take the picture with this model and see what is the reaction:
still i dont believe in relativism when it comes to images and how culture or values are portrayed, every image is important and has an effect. it reminds me of this image and the argument around it in america...its about my culture...do you know about it?:

Contrary to what you're thinking, part of a man's body (belt to knee) is a 3awra too (if you know the word). So it would equally unacceptable to see a man's naked body on the cover of a magazine.
You're trying to make it sound like it's about putting women down as mere sexual objects. So to make you happy, there you go, your argument is down. Come up with something else.
but we see the moroccan football players in short shorts all the time!!!!!

Our dear Achminfar9 ! u just don't get it...
This is should not even be up to debate, we should not come to the phase when we talk about the way we must see that image or the diference between the image of a man or a women. there's just no other way !!
there's a naked women above whom is written "femmes de Maroc" <--- for God's sake.
it's not up to any phylosophy...it should not have happened at first place.
that's a challenge, & if nobody stops them they will attack again...if this time the image was a black & white side sight, the next could be colored front sight.
PS , have u ever watched "Marock" ?

hhhh since i got busted i'll speak up, yes i did see it but saraha i don't see anything attractive about that image, maybe it's just me, but the image of a woman is far more alluring than that of a man, me thinks -wellah im straight-. and I also wanna add that i think its a FACT that God created women more attractive than men, and that is why a naked woman is seen as 7chouma but a naked dude isn't as much, and THAT is why women (in Islam at least) are required to cover up more than men..

as an overall statement in the 'war of morality' in which there is
